Joplin Trails coalition Minutes October 9th, 2008 President Perry Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:35pm. The minutes from Sept 18th were approved. We discussed about having a volunteer coordinator for next year's ride. Carthage YMCA is only able to staff one rest stop. One of our members volunteered to run the Purcell rest stop The Carthage fire dept has been contacted to wash down the Kellogg Lake Pavilion. Maple Leaf ride registration begins at 6:30 am with an 8:30am ride start time. A price increase should be made for next years ride. We seem to be priced very low with comparative rides. Pay Pal has been a success we have had several registrations come through pay pal. We have arranged for all the food. Perry will see that ice is picked up for Saturday morning and will pick up cheese from Schribers in Carthage. The Carthage mayor will be at the ride. Jasper and Barton county sheriff departments have been notified of the ride. We will have the kid's bicycle rodeo and have free helmets for the kids. Someone will be available for mechanical adjustments and repairs. We will give away the new bicycle before the ride starts. We will have a poker run for those who wish to participate. We have a few prizes to award. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.
